It’s depressing how I have to do this every year, but today is apparently the most depressing day of the year. Boffins have worked out that if you consider the weather, the post-Christmas blues, the fact that it’s Monday, the fact there holidays are a distant possibility then today is the most depressing day of the year. My vox pop for BBC East Midlands Today was, alas, inconclusive. However my cameraman did get a parking ticket…
