BBC Tuesday

31st July 2007

Today’s jaunt for BBC East Midlands Today was a whistle-stop tour of Nottinghamshire looking at not one but two new pieces of public art. First up was Canning Circus where a living fern sculpture seems to be a crowd pleaser just in time for Britain in Bloom (I can’t remember the last time I saw 10,400 Alternanthera plants looking so focused). Next up was a statue in Newark which was supposed to be ready for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee but was a mere five years late. (The Queen wrote a letter and she doesn’t mind).
