Ofcom conference

5th November 2008

I’ve been asked by NIACE to put together a film that celebrates media literacy. This will be shown at a forthcoming Ofcom conference on the same subject. Yesterday I nipped over to Liverpool (the A50 really is a fine road) and was amazed by a group called tenantspin. The group is made up mainly of senior citizens who, when their tower blocks that they have lived in since the 60s were demolished, set up an internet broadcasting service so that they could keep in touch. To them webcasts and blogging are as natural at PG Tips and garribaldis. I had to ask them what Flickr is.
